How does Swear Jar detect my keywords?
When you start a recording session, the app converts your speech to text (transcription) and scans for keywords you've defined. You can choose on-device processing for privacy or cloud processing for longer recordings.
Is my audio stored somewhere?
No. Audio files are automatically deleted immediately after transcription is complete. We only store the detected keywords and brief surrounding context - never the full recording.
Are the charges real money?
No. The "Swear Jar" balance is entirely virtual and for entertainment/motivation purposes only. No real money is collected or charged.
What are Circles?
Circles are accountability groups you can create or join with friends, family, or others working on similar goals. You control exactly what progress you share with each Circle through privacy settings.
Can I use the app offline?
Recording requires an internet connection for transcription. However, you can view your past sessions and statistics offline.
Delete Your Account
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. Here's how:
- Open the Swear Jar app
- Go to Profile (bottom right tab)
- Tap Account Settings
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account
- Confirm your decision
Alternatively, you can request account deletion by emailing us at administrator@myswearingjar.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your account.
What gets deleted?
- Your account and login credentials
- All your keywords and custom settings
- All your recording sessions and detection history
- Your goals and progress data
- Your Circle memberships
- Your profile photo (if uploaded)
Note: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We will process your deletion request within 30 days.
Data Export
You have the right to export your data. To request a copy of your data, please email us at administrator@myswearingjar.com with the subject line "Data Export Request."
We will provide your data in a machine-readable format (JSON) within 30 days.
Report a Problem
If you're experiencing issues with the app, please include the following information in your email:
- Device model (e.g., iPhone 14, Pixel 7)
- Operating system version (e.g., iOS 17.2, Android 14)
- App version (found in Profile > About)
- Description of the problem
- Steps to reproduce the issue (if applicable)
- Screenshots (if helpful)
